          • England – Day 5

Early in the morning, we started travelling to this beautiful, old city. The weather was very nice, and we were excited to explore Canterbury. In front of ‚The Old Buttermarket’ we met our tour guide. While walking through the small streets, the kind lady told us many stories about the statues and buildings. After the tour, we had some free time. There were many shops, so we had to check them out of course. After buying many souvenirs for our families, we headed back to where we started our tour. The famous Canterbury Cathedral is a very big and beautiful church. The building is old and full of history. Inside, it was quiet and peaceful. The colorful windows and high ceilings were amazing. We walked through the large halls, the cloisters, and the crypt. It was a special feeling to stand in a place where so many important moments happened long ago.

In the evening, it was time to leave. We drove to the ferry. Before we could get on the ferry,

our passports were checked. Everything went well, and soon we were on the ferry back to the

mainland. In France we got off the ferry and from there, we continued the trip back home to

            Germany.

All in all we really liked this trip. Canterbury is an impressive and interesting city. We enjoyed

learning about the cathedral and the history. The city felt calm and friendly. It was a great

experience and we would like to go there again one day.

          • England – Day 4

The day started das any other. We woke up at 6:30 and had toast and cereals for breakfast. We brushed our teeth, packed our bags and were driven off to the bus station at 7:40. There, we were driven straight to Greenwich. In Greenwich we had really nice weather. We walked to the Royal Observatory which looked quite impressive.

We then walked to the Cutty Sark Museum where we had quite a lot of free time during which we bought and ate something. After the break, we went to the pier where we got on a boat. The ride on the River Thames was fantastic. We were told some cool facts about Greenwich. We also took a lot of pictures. We drove past Tower Bridge, Blackfriars Bridge, Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Bridge, the Egyptian Obelisk, the London Eye and many more. We could even see the great clock of Westminster. It was incredibly interesting.

When we got off the boat, we took a break right next to the London Eye. After the break we went to see Shakespeare’s Globe where we enjoyed a short acting class by one of the professional actors that work there. We were also shown parts of the theatre though the guide didn’t’ speak much because there was a rehearsal going on.

Later, we walked back to the Underground station and drove north to North Greenwich where we got on our bus again that took us back to Herne Bay. In Herne Bay we were picked up by our host families. At home we had a burger and fries whilst attempting to talk to the French kids who our host family took in the day prior. After that, we went to bed.

          • England – Day 3

Today we want to tell you something about our first day in London. At first we arrived in London with our bus and then we needed to get the Tube. It was a beautiful experience for us. Then we were able to decide in which museum we wanted to go, the Natural History Museum or the Science and Technology Museum. Both museums were beautiful and there were a lot of things to see. After that we went to Buckingham Palace and it was so beautiful. We took a lot of pictures and the weather was also perfect. Even our class teacher wanted a picture with us girls, it was a bit funny because he always takes the pictures. At the end of our first day in London we got some free time and went shopping, it was very expensive but it didn’t matter because this might have been our only chance to buy something expensive. All and all it was very exciting and beautiful for all of us.

          • England – Day 2

In the morning, we ate breakfast and then we packed our backpacks for the day in Herne Bay. After that, our host family drove us to the meeting point where we met the other students. They told us some interesting things about their host families and after that we got some free time before our first activity of the day started. We went shopping in the nearby Aldi and a shop called Morrisons which looked just like an Aldi with some XXL products.

After that, we walked to a place called “Vibe” where we played games and made our own story with a man called Phil.

We played a game “don’t touch the chicken” where the goal was not to touch the chicken or fetch the chicken without getting caught by the other person from the opposing team.

Later, we had more free time to explore Herne Bay. While we walked down the main street, we saw a food shop where we decided to eat something. When we finished eating, we walked down the street until we had to go back to the meeting point. Then we drove to Leeds Castle by bus. There we visited the castle and explored the castle grounds. We got some exercises to do about the castle and its surroundings where we also solved a maze.

After that we walked back to the bus which drove us back to Herne Bay. When we arrived in Herne Bay, we got picked up by our host families. In the evening we ate dinner and then we went to bed.
