England - Day 1:
At 2:30 AM, we met at the bus. We were tired and excited at the same time, because it was the first time for us to go to London. We had to pack our bags into the bus and at 3:00 AM after everyone sat down, the bus left. The ride was exhausting, it was warm, loud and most of us couldn’t really sleep. We made a few stops on the way, where we could eat and walk a little bit, since sitting all the time was really uncomfortable. The bus drove through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
At the French-English border, we had to go through border control, where we had to show our passports. Then, we had to wait a long time before finally going on the ferry. There was a big shop at the border, but it didn't have anything interesting, so we just waited outside for an hour, which was super boring and it was cold and windy outside. On the ferry there were many people and it was very warm. We were able to walk around but we decided to sit down in front of the window, watch the sunset and wait for the ferry to arrive in the UK. It took about one and a half hour.
After we arrived in England, we still had to drive an hour to Herne Bay. It was already dark outside, most of us were tired and just wanted to sleep. In Herne Bay, our host families picked us up by car and we drove to their homes. There we ate dinner together and soon we went to bed.
